Doxifos start

Hi everyone, just stopping by to leave an update. Here's the gist for anyone interested:

-SS on left kidney.

-Surgery (nefrectomy) and radiation

-SS again, this time on stomach, spleen and pancreas

-Surgery (gastrectomy, splenectomy and partial pancreatectomy)

And now I'm done with the second cycle of chemo (Doxorrubicin and Ifosfamide). I have lost a bunch of weight on account of not having a complete digestive system and the usual side-effects of the chemo drugs. First cycle was the worst, I developed a nasty rash on my face and neck. It went away eventually, but then I had to go to the ER on account of neutropenic fever (little did I know I would wound up staying at the hospital for a week while my blood went back to normal).

I'm now back home, trying to eat as much as possible and gather strength for the next cycle. I'll keep you posted on my situation. Thanks for reading.

How many cycles are planned? Keep strong!

Hey Elodie, I'm scheduled to get four more for a total of six. :)

Hi Julian, just wanted to say hang in there and I wish you the best.

Hi Julian,

Hope it all goes well for you.

Good luck with the fight! Stay Strong and Determined to beat it.

I do hope you don't end up in the ER every time you are neutropenic... Good luck!
