Help with long term disability insurance

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could help me. I'm on social security disability and I was also collecting long term disability it's an insurance I purchased while I was employed. Last week I recieved a phone call and they informed me they were terminating my LTD insurance because my last two CT-Scans were cancer free. I told there I still suffer from fatigue and I haven't recovered from my last surgery which was in Feb 2012. But they say there wasn't measureable deficit. I plan to appeal, but I've done some research and have read the we have to be careful how and what we write in the appeal that it is best to get legal help but I can't afford to pay a lawyer. I have been surviving SS since July of 2007, I worked while going through chemo and 12 weeks after my first surgery, 3 weeks after my second surgery, I worked through chemo in Dec of 2011 and Jan of 2012 but after my last surgery in Feb of 2012 I haven't been able to bounce back, this is the first time I ever claimed social security disability and the LTD insurance. I don't know what to do, I my be forced to go back to work before I'm ready because I can't make it on the social security benefit alone. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

Here are some helpful links below...many times you need your physician to write a letter explaining your needs. If this is the case I have articles on cancer related fatigue that can be used as a reference. Write me off group at ( mimiolsson123@gmail.com ) and I will forward them to you.

Patient Advocate Foundation, Co-Pay Relief Program This program provides assistance for fees not covered by insurance and was expanded to include sarcoma patients. Patients must financially and medically qualify for the program.

Thank you both soooo very much, you don't know how much this means to me and my family.

Thank you again.

Thanks for those links, we could sure use this help too. We spent $300 for Votrient a few months ago and have a ton of copays that we haven't been able to make either. Some relief would be great right now.

if your insurance doesn't cover the chemo drugs, the drug company probably will. It's an easy process. www.pparx.com is a clearing house for all the drug company programs. This is great for ANY prescription drug, whether gotten from your doc (infusion or pills) or from the pharmacy.

Several hundred drug assistance programs stand ready to offer free or low-cost drugs to patients in need. A new Web site and toll-free number help navigate the system.
