The news on Charisses (CC) recent scans is not good...
She nows has a multitude of nodules throughtout both lungs... Too many to operate on... But... She now has the option of chemo again, for that we are feeling blessed.... With the christmas period around the corner, the hospital has decided to let her enjoy the holidays, but they will rescan soon just to make sure nothing is going out of control.... This is not good news as far as the cancer is concerned... She will start Chemo on the 9th January and will be on Ifosmide for two cycles then they will rescan... If It looks to be working there may be more cycles to follow... What happenes after that, I am unsure of as yet.... She is an amazing young woman , and has taken this all in her stride.... She is thinking with her head for now.... I'm just waiting for her heart to follow...
Too many to operate on? Have you heard about the laser surgery done by Dr. Rolle in Germany? Sometimes, this laser surgery works when traditional surgery doesn't (specifically when there is a high number of lung metastases). Here is some more information about it:
I know what your going thru. My 20 year old son has been going thru this since 2009 as well. He had it in is right fore arm with chemo and rad prior to surgery. Had it spread it to left lung in 2010 with removal(small part removed) in june and return again 3 months tried a study with no luck there. Had surgery again on the left lung (lower lobe removed) in June 2011 and then surgery in Aug 2011 on his right lung (a couple of pieces)..and now it has spread to his diaphram...Just started chemo again in Nov...we will have scans the week of christmas. Keeping you guys in my thoughts.
well we had our scans on monday and we finally got some good new. Everything has shrunk by half their size. I never thought we would ever get good news again...it's been two years of bad news. Have a Merry christmas. If your daughter wants to talk to Joe he is on facebook....joseph kerley
