I am sorry peeps this has nothing to do with colins health... but i am not happy.. as if we all (patients and carers and family members) on here have not got enough on in our lives at the moment between patients fighting for their lives,carers trying to do all they can to rid their loved ones of the disgusting disease and family member offering love and support. I get an email from a person on her called PAULINE ATTA basically telling me her life story she is a grad student and telling me that her parents and brother were murdered last year and then asking me to give my bank details so i can get the money then send it to her and she was offering half how dare she she send me a mail on here telling me she had info that could help is that not what we are all on here for help support and advice? then i respond to her and this is the response i get....

Sorry about this. This was my fault. I approved Pauline Atta on this website before knowing she was a spammer. Her account has now been blocked. Unfortunately, this type of abuse could happen again. Everybody needs to be aware of the possibility. Spammers don't have empathy. They are just parasites. If this happens again, let us know.

I think everyone have received this e mail - me too.

Here in france there is many people from Africa who tries to get money by this way.

Thank you for blocking her elodie is there anyway i can block her from emailing me again, i think that was a very bad form of deception, as i said we are all on here looking for cures help and advice and it was down right nasty for her to try and take advantage of us in such a despicable manner

it's a spammer. sometimes they get through our defenses. it's incredibly annoying but I like to think that this support group, and the other 33 that we run (www.bensfriends.org) create so much love and support that the little inconveniences like this are ok. :)

She send me also with the same word. There is two option. Or she is a bad person that uses our situation to steal from people or that she is a computer hacker. I immediately changed my email and password because if she is a hacker I think they can find out personal details and use them. I suggest you do so well.

I also got the same email and was shocked that someone would stoop so low. Absolutely disgusting. I haven’t written for awhile. I finished 2 rounds of chemo ( ifosfimide and doxuburin) don’t know if that spelling was right. I got my scans CT and MRI a few days ago a mist all the craziness in boston. Yesterday I called to check on the results the nurse said the hospital was on total lockdown since 8am but of my drs manage to call me back. Depending on the scans I was preparing for a 3rd round on mon but my Dr said nothing is worse but nothing is better. The tumor might have shrunk slightly. He said this isn’t necesarily bad news? I’m upset I just went through that for nothing and scared. They originally said the tumor was 10cm but the I found out it was 12 by 9. I guess now the other drs on my team ( surgeon, radiation) are going to talk about what 2 do next. I’m going in on Monday I’m assuming they’re going to go right to radiation. I just don’t understand how I was on the strongest combo of chemo and it did nothing?! I feel like if it were to spread I would be in trouble. I wish I stuck with my gut and started out with the radiation…

Did you receive Pauline's e-mail on this website's inbox or she actually has your e-mail address? Normally, a member here does not have access to other members e-mail addresses. He/she can send a message to your inbox if you accept him/her as a friend or leave a comment on your page. If he/she sends an e-mail to your inbox, the website forwards the message to your e-mail address but you can't reply directly, you have to come on this site. How did it happen? I didn't get an e-mail from her somehow. As Henanit said, she may be not just a spammer but also a hacker. She must be a hacker if she was able to send you an e-mail directly.

Alison, if the chemo only made the tumor stable it may actually be a good thing. It may mean your tumor was not fast growing and not so aggressive (hopefully).

Elodie she sent a message saying it was urgent and she had information for me. I thought it had something to do with my treatment. She gave me her personal email address so I emailed her and asked her what it was she had to tell me and I got the whole story and her asking me to transfer $ for her and be her guardian? Knew it was bogus so I never replied back

Alison i did the same thing as you of course when she said that she had important news i was on to her to see what the news was but like u i didn't respond to her bogus story i was so mad that someone could use a website like this to take advantage of us
