Sometimes, neurontin is given for phantom pain but it doesn't look very efficient according to this study:

As for me, I rarely experience phantom pain anymore. I noticed I do after my stump sweat a lot. I get electrical discharges which make the stump move by itself. It feels like it's due to a chemical imbalance but I haven't figured out how to prevent it yet... I can manage to "ignore" it though by focusing on something else. I 'd say I am applying a form of self-hypnosis.
