Bad taste in mouth

Any ideas for getting rid of the bad metallic taste in mouth during and after chemo? Sweets are not tolerable.

My son always used to rinse his mouth with water and baking soda. You put about 1 teaspoon of baking soda in a cup of luke warm water and take a big sip and rinse your mouth with it. Don't swallow. It also really helped really good for the little open spots that sometimes occur in his mouth.

Lemon drops are awesome, but not sure if that's too sweet for you. I also found fresh watermelon, apples, and melons refreshing. Sometimes Crystal Lite in my water helped too, but other times it wasn't appealing.

I also did the baking soda/salt rinse, it helped when I had mouth sores. I also found home made soups and ice cream / sherberts to be appealing during recovery, it was easy on the mouth sores.

Ginger or gums were also good for me

I used to place an extra strong mint under my tongue and just let it disolve away

I have heard pine apple fruit is good.

Thanks!
