When we asked the physician who did the endoscopy how the stomach looked where the wall was thickening and if he took biopsies from that section, he replied,"I don't know, I didn't have a copy of your CT scan to reference, but everything looked normal." I then asked for a referral to a local oncologist. He suggested that the thickening was due to scar tissue and recommended rescanning me in a year. I told him I was no physician, but it didn't seem logical to me that scar tissue would suddenly appear 5 years after surgery....Needless to say I was not impressed. I have an appointment scheduled next week with my old oncologist , Dr. Rushing at the IU Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis. It will be worth the 10 hour drive. Wish me luck! I'll keep you posted.
