I had my Oncology appointment. Just a 4 month checkup. I drove 2 hours for 5 minutes of this Dr.'s time. Showed him the area on the top of my thigh and told him I had pain there and swelling on the back of my leg. He picks up my personal paperwork which was from my last visit says my ct scan was ok and the pain was just minor aches and pains. The knot was nothing to worry about. He didnt even view the mri I just had done on leg or the ct scan I just had done on my chest. Frustrated do I have to see a sarcoma specialist or can I just see a regular oncologist. I have not cared for this Dr. since I had my biopsy done and he didnt notify me had cancer on my foot. So frustrating.
Better find a new oncologist. May be, you can find a sarcoma oncologist who will agree to communicate with a local oncologist so you don't have to travel so far all the time. Here are lists of sarcoma centers:
